| Hair Removal Priciple | Permanent hair reduction using Intense Pulse Light works on the principle of exposing the area where hair reduction is desired to a series of very short pulses of concentrated light. Very shorts bursts of broad spectrum light are applied to the treatment area and passes through the skin. The energy of the light is absorbed by areas where melanin is concentrated, in hair and the bulb at the root of the hair shaft. The light energy converts into heat energy. This heat damages the hair-producing capability of the hair follicle. The very short, high-intensity bursts of light used in Intense Pulsed Light treatment mean that the effect on the skin surrounding the hair is minimized. To permanently reduce hair by destroying the hair bulb, the base of the hair follicle needs to be heated to more than 70C. The IPL equipment to be used must generated sufficient power to reach this temperature.Using a filter with a range of 640nm – 1200 nm it will block all light wavelengths 420nm – 639nm, letting through only 640 nm – 1200nm. This particular filter is used when hair (the bulb or root at the base of the hair shaft) is the target. The reason we filter out certain wavelengths is because they have no effect on the target, so leaving them in has no benefit, we leave only the wavelengths that focus on the target. |
| Rejuvenation Removal Priciple: | Melanin is a brown substance sits in the upper layers of the skin and causes hyper-pygmentation, usually the result of sun damage or ageing. The usual places are on the face, the neck and back of the hands.Intense Pulse Light treatment removes pigmentation by stimulating renewal of the upper layers of the skin from underneath. The pulses of light are absorbed by the excess melanin, creating heat that destroys the uppermost pigmented skin cells and the area is renewed after 10-14 days. The light pulse also stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin fibres in the skin, which improves firmness and overall texture, helping to over-come the effects of Sun damaged.The typical filter applied for this treatment would be 520nm – 1200nm. The light pulse is very short, causing only a mild sensation during the treatment. |

Active acne is characterized by frequent outbreaks of inflamed pustules, caused by a bacteriological infection.
